Restaurant. The development of the modest storefront Mexican restaurant evolved into vital community outcomes. Since 1974, Norma and her husband Nabor and their two children Molly and Alfonso have created an anchor to the revitalization efforts of Old Town Aurora. They were instrumental in the creation of the arts district that also has lent to the welcoming character of the 12-block area of East Colfax Avenue. Norma also served as a volunteer for the Aurora Public Schools and grew interested in the plight of Latino and other students who were not succeeding in the typical environment.
An outgrowth of that interest was the Nuñez Foundation created in 1996. In addition to fund-raising efforts for scholarships, the foundation

has broadened its mission by establishing a career exploration program in a camp-like experience on the campus of Johnston & Wales University. The foundation mission encompasses these two paths of support by:
funding educational and life skill opportunities to the youth of Aurora (and metro Denver schools)
by providing pathways to career awareness, decision making skills and post-secondary education.
Thank you for making this year's Bright Lights Scholarship Brunch Fund-raiser,
which was held on 8/7/11, a huge success! The Nuñez Foundation awarded
5 college scholarships this year with your help.
